It took a week to finish, but Callum Burns (pictured left) finally put Cottingham through to the Scratch League final with a birdie at the second play-off hole in his match against SNC's Paul Harper.
The original Cottingham v Scarborough North Cliff semi final took place on 7 September, but the match was left in the balance when darkness descended at Hornsea Golf Club. Warren Burns (pictured right) defeated SNC's Tyler Whitton 5&4, before Tom Benson brought the match level with a 5&3 win over George Coope.
Callum and Paul couldn't be separated over 18 holes and there was not enough light to even start extra holes. So they returned a week later and it was Callum who prevailed to put Cottingham into Sunday's final against Hornsea at Ganton.
