The rule governing the use of buggies in our events has been changed after approval at the last Executive Meeting on Thursday 13th March 2025:
9. Use of Motorised Ride-on Buggies
a) Except for the competitions stated at c) below, a competitor is not permitted to use a motorised ride-on buggy, unless prior authorisation has been granted, on account of a disability, by the Executive Committee and subject to agreement by the host Club. An application form to obtain authorisation can be obtained from the Union Secretary at secretary@erugc.co.uk
Penalty for breach of Rule 9a): Disqualification
b) A motorised ride-on buggy authorised under a) above is for the exclusive use of the competitor and no other competitor may ride in or on the buggy.
Penalty for non-authorised competitor for breach of Rule 9b): General Penalty for each hole at which a breach occurred, to a maximum of two holes and Disqualification for any further breach.
c) Motorised ride-on buggies are permitted in the following competitions without prior authorisation:
- Associate Members’ Open Meetings
- The Millennium Trophy
d) Competitors using motorised ride-on buggies must ensure they are covered by the necessary insurance.
