1. Junior players, boys and girls, must be under 18 years old at 00:00 hours on the 1st day of January of the year of the competition. Players may only play for one team during the season. All players in each team must conform to General Rule 2, but General Rule 3 shall not apply to this event.
2. The Executive Committee shall allocate the teams into divisions as necessary and shall determine the format of the competition, which may include end-of-season play-offs to decide the finalists.
3. The format of play throughout the competition will be Matchplay, with a maximum Handicap Index for any player of 18.4 (players with a Handicap Index of 18.5 and above may play but must use the maximum index of 18.4 for calculations). Matches to be played off the appropriate tees (boys – white; girls – red), with a stroke allowance of the difference in Playing Handicaps (see also Rule 7 below)
4. Home team secretary to contact the away team to confirm each fixture.
5. Teams must play in order of Handicap Index, i.e. lowest plays lowest, and highest plays highest.
6. Three Juniors per team.
7. Where players are playing from tees with different Course Ratings, the player playing over the higher rated course will receive a stroke allowance equal to the full difference between their Playing Handicaps, plus the difference in the Course Rating values (rounded to the nearest whole number) up to a maximum allowance of 18 strokes. The stroke allowance shall be taken in accordance with the stroke index of the tees from which the player receiving the allowance plays.
8. 2 points for a win, 1 point for a half for each of the three matches in a fixture.
9. Postponement of fixtures should only take place in exceptional circumstances. Key players being unavailable is not exceptional. Matches must be played within the week specified.
10. The home team should contact the Junior League Secretary with the result immediately after the fixture.
11. Winning margins must be recorded, as in the event of a tie for the league, holes up will be counted against holes down.
12. Any team failing to fulfil two or more fixtures during the league season will have all their match results cancelled.
13. No caddies allowed.
14. Spectators must keep clear of all matches, the required distance is 50 yards.
15. The winners of the play-offs (if any), otherwise the top two teams will contest the final on a date and at a venue to be advised. The format of play for any play-offs required and the final shall be Matchplay over 18 holes, in which the above rules apply. In the event of a play-off or final being a tie, the game which is tied after 18 holes (or if all games are so tied, the game between the players with the lowest Handicap Index) shall proceed to a sudden death play-off from the 1st tee, with any stroke allowances taken as they arise.
