Hull's Jacob Hodgson was delighted to receive his ERUGC blazer from Team Captain Andy Lockwood on the occasion of his 12th appearance for the Union.
The 2023 Yorkshire Order of Merit Champion is now studying at Stirling University and has reduced his handicap by three strokes in the past year and now has a WHI of +2.3. Fortunately for Andy, Scottish universities finish very early and Jacob played a key role in the team's opening YIDU League victory over Harrogate Union at Hornsea on Sunday 19 May. Jacob made his debut in 2021 and picked up a foursomes win with Hull teammate Will Storr at Sandburn against York, but he became a regular in the side in the latter half of the 2022 season. In 2023 Jacob played in six of the seven fixtures, including two wins in the day of the title winning match at Starbeck.
Congratulations to Jacob - there will be dozens more appearances to come no doubt.
