Millennium Trophy Winners Crowned After Testing Day at Brough

ERUGC Millennium Trophy
Sunday 2nd August, 2026
Brough Golf Club

Three qualifiers — one from each of Division 1, 2 and 3 — were sent by the majority of our member clubs to battle it out in their respective Divisional finals for the Millennium Trophy.

It was another warm day, and the well-presented Brough course proved quite a test. With many of the competitors not having played the course for some years, there was plenty of head-scratching to be done, plotting a way round a layout offering hard ground and some distinctly unpredictable bounces.

The winners on the day were:

Division 1

1.           Lewis Wilson (Cave Castle) 34 pts

2.           Toby Clark (Hull) 34 pts

3.           Jonny Barker (Brough) 33 pts

Division 2

1.           Barry Whittles (Cottingham Parks) 39 pts

2.           Bayley Rowlands (Brough) 35 pts

3.           Michael Sutherby (Hull) 33 pts

Division 3

1.           Stephen Jenneson (Driffield) 37 pts

2.           Christopher Dyer (Drax) 37 pts

3.           Tony Gill (Springhead) 36 pts

Congratulations to Lewis Wilson, Barry Whittles and Stephen Jenneson on taking home their Divisional Millennium Trophies, and to all who battled the Brough bounces to make the finals. Of the nine prizewinners, there were seven different clubs represented.

Thank you to Brough Golf Club for the use of their course on a Sunday morning, and to the clubhouse staff for looking after the competitors, myself and our President, Alan Hutchinson, with refreshments and food throughout the day.
