Louis Locks Up The Junior Order Of Merit Title

Louis Danville’s fourth place in the penultimate event of the year has sewn up this year’s East Riding Junior Order of Merit title. With just the Cottingham ERYGA Open remaining, Louis’s lead of 33 points means he is uncatchable (as 25 points are awarded to each event’s winner).

The Junior Order of Merit is played over five junior events across the year, with double points on offer at the ERUGC Junior Championship

Louis started the year strongly with an excellent win in the Geoff Jones Memorial Trophy (Hull Junior Open) at the end of May. He has finished no lower than 5th in all four counting events so far to be a deserving winner of the shield won last year by Jack Burt. of Cottingham Parks. [Louis is pictured with Margaret Jones and Hull GC Captain Dave Monaghan after the first event]

Hopes are high that more Junior Opens will be added to the schedule for 2026 which will encourage participation and certainly boost the numbers at the ER Junior Championship.

Many thanks to Jon Eastman for collating all the results as always.
